Happy Sunday Everyone!
This week my dad came for a visit and also to drop off some treasures he had found amongist his daily travels. My dad has an eye for unique items that he knows I could use or revamp. (This also helps out with my staging inventory.) Anyways, dad had found a cute card catalog. I knew by looking at it, it wasn’t very old, cute but fairly new. That’s when I had the idea to distress this piece but also to revamp at the same time.
To give this piece an older farmhouse look I just sanded it down, gave it two coats of white paint, another sand and a quick black spray paint to the little handles.
This piece was so easy to up-cycle because it was already painted black and with a few coats of white paint and some sanding I knew the black would pop out making this piece look distressed and vintage! And, the best part of this project was that it didn’t cost me a thing! The card catalog was found and I had some extra paint just laying around my garage.
For now, I styled this piece in our office. We use it for tape measures, pecils , pens, business cards, note pads and all those other office items. However, this cute piece could be used anywhere! For example, on your dresser for your jewellery, in your bathroom for toilettes or in your dinning room for candles, napkins and such. The options are endless!
I hope you guys enjoyed this simple Card Catalog up-cycle and that it inspires you to up-cycle something old or dated.
