Bedside Table Makeover

Happy Sunday!Screen Shot 2016-05-01 at 1.34.33 PM

It’s raining again here, lame. Anyways, I finally finished giving my bedside tables a makeover! I purchased these 2 tables from a local Varage member for $5. They are super heavy and were very outdated. With that said, I knew the veneer finish would take me hours to sand off, which was something I wasn’t looking forward to doing. So, I used chalkboard paint because I knew it would cover well and that it needed less prep work. I used the brand Rust-Oleum and their Chalked Ultra Matte Paint line in the color aged grey. Before I painted, I removed the old hardware and gave the entire table a quick sand with a hand sander. I then applied 2 coats of the chalk paint, first with a paintbrush and then again with a small roller. Once the tables were fully covered, I left them to dry and then added 2 cup-pull drawer handles that I purchased from Ikea. I then brought them inside to style and I absolutely love how they turned out! I placed them in my living room, but you could totally use them in a bedroom or a flex space. However, I am going to use mine for staging.

This little project cost me $55, which is a great price for 2 solid end tables.

Thank you for stopping by my little blog today, and if you’re not following my on Instagram, you can here. 🙂
